The wedding was attended by 1,900 guests with the likes of Elton John accompanied by his partner David Furnish as well as David and Victoria Beckham being spotted in the Abbey.
Supporters of the Royal Family celebrated the wedding in true British tradition, by hosting street parties up and down the country.
It has been estimated by streetparty.org.uk, that one million people attended a street party to celebrate the royal occasion, and there were 5,500 formal road closures recorded by the Local Governments’ Association.
The Prime Minister, David Cameron, hosted his own street party to celebrate the event on Downing Street. Earlier In the month Cameron controversially said that people should go ahead with street parties and ignore council bureaucracy.
