The Verdict: Eco Clothes

Blouse - £14.99
Swedish retailer H&M has recently launched its new Conscious Collection.

The affordable new range features clothes made from sustainable materials such as organic cotton and recycled polyester.

The collection includes trends which featured heavily in this season's catwalks such as whites and neutral colours.

The eco-collection is set to continue throughout the year with new additions to be added to womenswear, menswear and kidswear.

“It’s not just about organic cotton anymore, the possibilities for creating a complete fashion statement with eco smarter materials are huge now. By designing recurring Conscious Collections we have the opportunity to show in a variety of ways what’s possible using more sustainable fabrics,” says Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M Head of design.
“Shades of white are the season’s biggest fashion trend and it feels right for this collection. White creates a romantic feeling with lace and Broderie Anglaise, but is also the basic colour in a sporty, relaxed style and in a preppy tailored look for men.”

Not only does the new range boast floaty maxi skirts, romantic tunics, and amazing hot-pants, but it teams Broderie Anglaise with lace for that fresh spring look.

Black Swan actress, Natalie Portman, is reportedly a huge fan of H&M’s sustainable clothing and was papped wearing their lace-sleeved white swing tunic at a pre-Oscar party.

The collection features many staple pieces, essential in any wardrobe, such as the Broderie Anglaise trim tunic which looks amazing teamed with skinny jeans and simple ballet pumps for that summery chic feel.

H&M certainly gets a thumbs up from us.

The Conscious Collection is available in store at H&M and online at hm.com/gb now.
